Sayang Dolly!

Lately, besides the "cute cute face", she has learnt one more new command and that's "sayang Dolly". My MIL has lately bought chubs a sweet little doll from Cerisi and named her Dolly. She will put it cheek-to-cheek with chubs and say "Sayang sayang Dolly". After a couple of days, whenever we say "sayang Dolly", chubs will hug the doll and put Dolly cheek-to-cheek without fail. We were really surprised at how she had grasped that without a span of 1-2 days and never failed to do that whenever we gave that command.

bonding with daddy
Now at 9 months old, chubs has learnt some new tricks and new behavior:
  • put her hand or a phone to her ear and hum "hello" while also tilting her head to the side
  • sayang Dolly on command
  • has 4 teeth now - 2 budding and 2 full out
  • more clingy to people now and spends lesser time in her walker
  • will respond when we say "sayang" or "kiss kiss" by putting her face near us and preparing to be kissed/sayanged
HAPPY 9 MONTHS OLD, ASHLEY!

Lunch at Nando's

My sis had wanted for us to go for Thai lunch at Porn's at Liang Seah street as my parents are fans of Pornsak (artiste and co-owner of the place) but it was closed. As we later found out, it's closed on alternate Sundays. So, we decided to have lunch at Bugis Junction Nando's instead as I've we've been wanting to check that place out. Lovely lunch, I loveeee their peri-peri sauce (as usual, their sauce never fails to perk me up) and can't wait to get back there again!

chubs having a chucklin' good time with my dad and sis and yes, my dad got her ANOTHER tambourine!

grouchy because of the sun (i think)

Playdate with baby Anya + Another birthday dinner

Edit: Photos of playdate are added

We have yet another birthday dinner to go to this evening. I know I know, it seems like there're so many birthday meals we have to go to right? But it's all good, cos we get to enjoy yummy food and gather with our family members :) For tonight, it's Alvin's Uncle Chia's birthday dinner at a Teochew restaurant. I find the food just OK but hubs loved it. Guess he's a true blue Teochew kid.

Before the dinner, Joyce (my secondary school mate) and I had arranged for a playdate between her baby Anya and chubs in the afternoon. Joyce and Jiehao came with baby Anya around 2 plus in the afternoon and the 2 kiddos seemed to take to each other rather well. Chubs even sat down with the 3 of them, wanting to be part of their family. As usual, she liked playing with kids and she wanted to "sayang" and touch Anya and kept smiling at her. She also liked Joyce and allowed her to carry and play with her with nary a whim. Good first playdate with a fellow baby! I'm proud of her good behavior during the session although she might appear a tad too active at times. She had boundless energy and kept "talking" and cruising along the couch, as if doing a show-and-tell for her guests. Pictures of the playdate will be updated  later as I have to grab the pictures from my other harddisk have been updated.

Lately, chubs has learnt one new facial expression which my mum dubbed the "cute cute face". For the uninitiated, "cute cute face" appears when chubs scrunch up her face (all features squeezed towards the centre of her face) and leans her head back. She tends to do this when she's either exasperated or very happy. Let the pictures do the talking:

my mum decided to pop by for a short visit

Anya was very happy that day and kept smiling! In comparison, chubs appeared a tad grouchy :P

"Chargeeeeeeeeee!!!"

blending in VERY fast (i think if she can speak, she will probably say "Please bring me home with you, Aunty Joyce!")

chubs' diaper was overloaded and her pee overflowed to daddy's T-shirt when he carried her. HUAT ah!

F1 Day!

Note: Entry is not about chubs so skip this if you only want to see cute pictures of her. Hee :)

Hubs and I had tickets to the F1 practice day and here we are, walking towards one of the many gates

our passes!

the gate we had a hard time looking for

one of the many photo-taking booths

managed to sneak to the Marina Grandstand somehow and the view is rather nice!

and .... VROOOOOOOOM!

even practice day also so many people!

vroom vroom!

Some little known cars taking on the track while the pros went for a break

the Singapore Flyer

as access to the Singapore Flyer came with the pass, we decided to go for one ride - this is a view of the pit building from wayyy up

finding our way around during the break

finally I get to see the Helix bridge!

on our way out

one last shot of MBS before we finally step foot outta there

I must say it's a really good experience! Love seeing the cars vroom past and the atmosphere there. Too bad our tickets are only a one-day pass, I bet the the atmosphere on the actual race day must be super electrifying! Though I love the experience, it would be hard to get me to cough up that kinda money to watch it again. Let's hope for free tickets again. Hahaha...

Passport finally!

I was on MC today and after having gone for mammogram and ultrasound in the afternoon, we decided to make use of the rest of the day to run some errands. I had applied for a passport for chubs and myself (expiring soon) a week back and the passports are ready for collection since few days ago. Although I had already made an appointment to collect both our passports next Saturday, we decided to do it today as hubs had to work next Saturday and he was worried about me coming alone with chubs.

so cute!

chubs' little learning corner and her 4 lanterns (4!) - left from my Dad, the next 2 from my MIL and the last one from Amanda

MIL decided to bring chubs down in her sleepwear because she still has a little cold and yet doesn't want her to miss out on all the Mid-Autumn Festival fun. All her buddies were there!

took her home after just a little while because it was really smoky and she was really sweaty

*nom nom*

My Dad bought a munchkin teether thingy for chubs and as MIL is not familiar with it, she seldom uses it. So today when I'm there, I decided to let chubs self-feed some apples!

initially not daring to take the teether and bite so we had to feed her

still trying to get her to feed herself

finally dare to take the teether in her own hands. she enjoyed it so much she made lotsa sucking sounds while at it!

looking at mummy for help when daddy decided to pretend to eat her apples
