Daddy's first attempt at feeding!

Today marks the first time hubs is finally feeding chubs her porridge. Chubs is really enjoying her solids and I'm really glad she's taking to it so well. No problems with swallowing and no spitting so far. Good job, chubs!

Meeting up after almost 2 weeks

As I was away on a BKK trip over the weekend, my parents did not manage to see chubs for a week plus. So I decided to meet them at AMKhub for a short while with chubs and my MIL(who had to do some grocery shopping at NTUC). My MIL decided to doll chubs up for the outing and below are pictures of my dolly!

Both my parents can't get their hands off her!

Looking on at a NTUC trolley "parked" beside us

big enough to go on the trolley!

couldn't resist putting this picture in because she looks really cute when she purses her lips like this!

Upon reaching NTUC, my dad took pillows and passed it to chubs who took it eagerly!

As chubs seemed to like the pillow my dad took(it was just to cushion her from the trolley initially), my dad decided to buy it for her. Haha!

*yawns* getting tired after a litttttle while

As we just got started on our shopping at NTUC, chubs became tired and as I was looking at stuffs, chubs dozed off with her hands still holding on to the trolley and her face resting on the rails. It was such a cute sight! But I didn't manage to get a picture of it because my first concern was to carry her and put her in the baby sling for her to sleep better. Oh ... so cute!

Her first solid adult poo!

After having solids for a couple of days, chubs has progressed to solid poo! Or it could be a start to a little constipation on her side as we find out few days later.

She had her first solid poo in the morning before I got to my MIL's place and when I reached, she was ready for another poo. She cried rather badly, think she finds pushing her poo out painful and it's a new experience for her as well. Throughout the day, she pooed probably another 2 times and cried while doing it and we attributed it to her not used to pooing solids and thought nothing much of it. Little did we know that it will progress to something more serious few days down. Will detail her constipation episode in the subsequent entries.

Nainai's yummy porridge!

After starting chubs on Nestle Cereal, my MIL decided to let chubs try her homecooked porridge cos it's more nutritious and fresh.

the yummy porridge! (i know it's yummy cos i finished chubs' leftovers)

the baby who can't wait to get started!

Look how eager chubs is?? She even guided and held my hands when I weren't fast enough! Amidst eating, she was still very sensitive to the camera aand kept looking over at Amanda who helped took the pictures

Still looking when I was feeding her

She took to the porridge really well and her "Ahh ...." and "Um!" were very good! She also swallowed very well and can finish the portion that we scooped for her(as shown in the first picture). She even cried for more when we stopped. Not wanting her to feel too bloated since this is only the first few feeds, we refused to budge and instead, kept her occupied with toys and coax her to sleep.

"AHhhhHhhh...nom nom nom"

"Ehhh? not porridge??"

"Never mind, camera also can!"

forgotten all about porridge already and being entertained by us

Finally coaxed her to sleep after her porridge and another serving of milk

As I'll be going to BKK for 4D3N tomorrow afternoon, I took this parting shot with her but she refused to wear the hairband and can now pull it off her head easily, not like the first couple of months when she can't do anything about it.

XOXO

The day chubs started on solids

As chubs is approaching the 6-month mark in a day's time, we all agreed that it's time to start her on solids. For the past 2-3 weeks, she has been showing keen interest in whatever we are having and wants to have a share and since she can also sit and stand without support(for a little while), we decided that it's time!

So MIL and I went off for grocery shopping at NTUC at AMK hub and I picked this for chubs before starting her on my MIL's porridge:

We mixed the cereal/milk with a little bit of warm water just like what we'd do for her milk and contained it in the utensils her grand auntie bought for her(as shown in the picture above). She took to the cereal rather well and MIL decided that she would start her on her homecooked porridge tomorrow. Seems like my chubs is already to enter the adult world of eating! hahaha... i know it's still too early to say this, but it's a start somewhat! Pictures to follow:

"Ok now, where's my mum mum?"

"Okaay... so this is it?"

"MMmmm ... tastes rather good!"

Yay! Happy baby!

First taste of pear puree!

We had to make a trip to Alvin's Aunty and Uncle's place today to pay respects to his grandfather as it's his death anniversary today. But before that, we spent some time with chubs at Alvin's mum and after much persuasion, agreed to let chubs have her first taste of pear puree.

 *muaks!*

Papa don't preach!

the pear puree - pear was cooked and blended using the Philips Avent Steam Blender I bought at Motherhood Expo few weeks back

Daddy giving her the first taste of pear puree

chubs can't wait to have a taste of that! didn't really seem to like it though - might be too warm or tasteless for her

As I wanted to start her on solids proper on Monday, I stopped them from feeding her after her few licks of the puree. And off we went to Alvin's Aunty/Uncle's place!

Meeting one of her cousins - she was so eager to make friends with him and she went ahead to sayang and almost hugged him! My friendly chubs! But the poor little boy was so scared he cried the moment chubs got near.

chubs forgetting her manners when she went ahead and grabbed her grandaunt's hair (the little boy in this pic is the older brother of the toddler in the previous pic)

chubs lookin' handsome!

My chubs trying to do "push-ups" and attempted to crawl on her granduncle's bed while her cousin looked on

Chubs, mummy loveeeeees you!
