As cliche as it sounds, time really flies and children really do grow up much faster than you'd think! Ashley turns one on the 29th but since it's a weekday, we decided to hold the celebration today as it would be better for everyone.
My initital plans was to make her 1-year celebration a big one as it would be a celebration of a major milestone in her life. But, as we started discussing and rationalising, we decided that we would instead hold a smaller celebration due to the following reasons:
1) Ashley would be too young to enjoy whatever grand plans we might have in store for her;
2) we didn't want our friends to have to splurge on her again after her 1-month celebration;
3) planning for a big one turned out to be a potential logistic nightmare for both Alvin and I since it's during the festive season;
4) we only wanted it to be a celebration for our dear and loved ones; and
5) we wanted to be able to talk to and entertain our every guest (not like the 1-month celebration where we hardly get to interact properly with every guest).
As it turned out, we still had about 30+ guests worth of immediate families. Hardly had time to enjoy the whole process before it was over. Luckily we made it a smaller one than intended! At least Ashley did get to celebrate her 1st birthday to everyone who mattered the most.

Tadah!! The presents revealed! Very nice portraits of Ashley |
Many photos taken with Alvin's DSLR are not uploaded yet due to the hassle of sifting through and resizing the number of photos. Will update when the photos are ready so in the meantime, please bear with the low res photos :)
For the record, Ashley's birthday celebration was held at Zhou's Kitchen at Anchorpoint. The food was yums!
